IAITH administrative staff
Gareth Ioan, Chief ExecutiveGareth took the CEO role within the company in 1997. Under his direction the company has maintained and developed its status as the leading pioneering organisation in language planning in Wales. His main interest is community language planning. He has a background in youth and community work and considerable experience in promoting the arts within the community. Gareth is one of the founders of the language planning think tank Y Ffwrwm.
Nigel Vaughan, Senior Finance and Administrative Officer
Following a career with the Water Board during which Nigel became Regional Manager for West Wales, he retrained as a financial manager. He joined IAITH in August 009. Nigel is now in charge of the Centre's finance and efficiency.
Kelly Davies, Administrative Officer
Kelly is the company's gatekeeper, the pleasant voice one hears when calling our office in Newcastle Emlyn. She supports the administrative work of a number of the executive departments, particularly the Twf scheme.

Steve Eaves: Director, Corporate Language Planning
Steve joined the company in 2001 following a career in local government as Head Translator and Language Officer with Arfon and Conwy Councils. He was one of the founders of Rhwydiaith, he served as a Vice-Chairman for the Association of Welsh Translators and Interpreters and he is one of the leading experts on corporate language planning issues. He has a strong background in unionism that contributes to his expertise in developing a bilingual workforce.
Dr Kathryn Jones: Director, Policy and ResearchKathryn joined the company in 1999. Previously she worked in Paris, Tanzania and China on language-related matters. As a linguist and sociologist, Kathryn leads our policy and research department. She is a member of BAAL and regularly contributes papers to international language conferences.
Elaine Davies: Director, Education and Training Following a career in social care, Elaine has combined that background with language planning matters, as a freelance worker and as a member of Cwmni Iaith since 2001. She is one of the pioneers of language awareness training and has published extensively on the subject. Elaine established the Twf scheme in its first cycle.
Morys Gruffydd: Director, Community Language PlanningMorys joined the company in 2004 following a career in the media. He leads the Estyn Llaw scheme that supports voluntary organisations in developing bilingual practice. He is a skilled trainer and provides language awareness training to organisations here in Wales and to their headquarters in England. Morys leads the company's community focused services.
Elin Mair: Language Services Officer (Newcastle Emlyn)
Elin assists the company's consultants in Newcastle Emlyn and focuses on community work, via Estyn Llaw, and education and training work. Elin is also responsible for co-ordinating the Training Programme and running the company's monitoring service.
Dr Mari Wiliam: Estyn Llaw Project Officer, North Wales
Mari joined us to develop the role of Estyn Llaw in North Wales after completing a PhD in Welsh History at Bangor. She is also an assistant lecturer with the Open University.
Twf Staff
Catrin Saunders: All-Wales Coordinator (temporary)
Catrin has been a project worker for Twf in Cardiff and Caerphilly since 2003. In recent years, she has also been Regional Coordinator for South East Wales. Since May 2009 Catrin has been employed temporarily as All Wales Coordinator during Meryl Pierce's maternity leave.
Eirian Williams: Project Officer's Assistant
Following a period as a Twf Field Officer in Conwy, Eirian with her extensive administrative background came into the heart of the project as an Assistant for Meryl and a Co-ordinator for North-east Wales. Eirian also keeps an eye on the organisation of the St Asaph office.
Marian Owen: Administrative Officer
Marian has had previous experience as a clerk in both education and housing sectors. She is the Twf administrator and offers sound support to Twf's North Wales team. Marian may be responsible for the cheerful greeting you will hear when calling the St Asaph office.
Nerys Jones: Administrative Officer
Nerys' professional talents were nurtured at the BBC. She is now a great asset to the Twf team where she undertakes a job-share arangement with Marian. It's Nerys' dulcet tones that you will probably hear when contacting our St Asaph office.
